Alchemy in Genshin Impact - where to find and how to craft items [guide]

Alchemy in Genshin impact - one of the most important and useful mechanics. With its help, you can create the missing materials for pumping characters, potions, quest items and many other useful things. The Alchemy Guide will tell you where to find workbenches, what you can craft, and which characters are good at this art.

Where to find alchemy in Genshin Impact

Alchemy is available from the earliest ranks, but the number of recipes will insignificant, and therefore at the very beginning of the game it makes no sense to spend resources on it. The world quest from Timaeus introduces the mechanics after arriving in Mondstadt.

Every kingdom has alchemical workbench (as a rule, it can be found near the teleport), which is the main way to enter crafting mode. In total, there are 6 such tables in the world in a permanent place, you can approach any convenient one:

You can also create your own workbench and install it in Kettle.

To get the recipe for an alchemy workbench, you need complete all tasks of chapter 3 in the Fluffy Scroll, after which it will become available for creation and placement. Craft table worth 20 fragments of white iron.

Where to get alchemy recipes

Most of the recipes come from raising adventure rank, these include "simple" crafting abilities like material upgrades. To open them, you just need to raise your level.

Potions, baits, tools

Alchemy allows you to create consumable items from improvised ingredients. These can be potions that increase elemental damage and resistance; bait for fishing; tools that are considered consumable are pocket teleporters and stones for finding oculuses. They need the simplest materials underfoot - animals, plants, crystals.

Raising the level of materials

Alchemy allows improve the quality of existing material. The following resources can be upgraded:

Talent Books;
Loot from ordinary and elite monsters;
Materials for the elevation of weapons;
Gems;

Everyone has general improvement scheme - to create a higher quality version, you need 3 low-level units and a little Mora.

To make the process of leveling up your characters easier, follow these steps:

Click on the four squares icon in the lower left corner of the interface.
Select the desired character from the drop-down menu.
Next, a full list of materials required to upgrade the hero will open.

Material Conversion

I have an opportunity convert one item to another, retaining its rarity and type. This only works with gems and loot from weekly bosses. To access the menu, select second tab at the top of the screen and a list of available recipes will drop down. Before creating, make sure the following resource exists:

Nitrogen Dust (for gems) - bought at Paimon store;
Dream Dissolver (boss loot) - drops from weekly bosses.

After selecting a recipe, click on the change button and click on the one that will be spent for conversion.

This is a very useful way if there are not enough items to upgrade your favorite character, and again the wrong one fell from the boss.

Character passives do not apply to conversions.

Mystic Offering: Artifacts

The third tab is dedicated to creation of artifacts. You can create one of 30 sets:

When offering randomly 3 selected unnecessary 5* artifacts, one random one from the selected set of equal quality will be received. Reliquary opens immediately and does not fall into the Inventory.

Potions

There are two types of potions: those that increase damage and those that increase resistance. Full list:

flame oil – increases Pyro damage by 25%;
Heat Shield Potion – increases Pyro resistance by 25%;
whirlpool oil – increases Hydro damage by 25%;
Draining Potion – increases Hydro resistance by 25%;
frosty butter – increases cryo damage by 25%;
Frost Shield Potion – increases Cryo resistance by 25%;
thunder oil – increases Electro damage by 25%;
Isolation Potion – Increases Electro resistance by 25%;
storm oil – increases Anemo damage by 25%;
Wind Barrier Potion – increases Anemo resistance by 25%;
monolithic oil – increases Geo damage by 25%;
Potion of Dustproof – increases Geo resistance by 25%;
forest oil – increases Dendro damage by 25%;
Potion of antidendro – Increases Dendro resistance by 25%.

All drinks are valid 5 minutes after application.

In total, each hero needs 9 fragments, 9 pieces and 6 gems.

Tools

10 tools are available for crafting:

thick resin. Needed to receive double the rewards of the arteries of the earth. In the Inventory, it is in the Jewels section;
Pocket Teleport. A consumable tool that allows you to place a waypoint anywhere in Teyvat. There can only be one such object in the world. Works for a week and then disappears.
