The Golden Chamber is a dungeon of punishment, and Childe is in Genshin impact - one of the most dangerous weekly bosses that can kill a character with one hit. His hybrid element can cause unwanted reactions, and you will have to fight him in order to upgrade the talents of your favorite characters.
All the important and necessary information about Childe - where to find him, which characters to take, the technique of defeating the boss, and what rewards can be obtained. The guide will tell you how to win and not die during the battle.
How to unlock the Childe boss in Genshin Impact
It will take 35 adventure rank. The first combat encounter with him occurs in the mission of the Archons Approach of a new star, in which the Harbinger is quite hostile. You must defeat Childe and complete the quest to open the dungeon permanently. In this, Tartaglia is similar to the Lair of Terror of the Storm, or Tensyukaku - all repeated battles will be considered as taking place in the Traveler's mind, since the boss is only a memory.
Where to find the Golden Chamber
After opening the boss to the dungeon, a direct teleport appears in the form of a square dungeon icon. It can be found south of Li Yue Harbor.
Unit to fight Childe in Genshin Impact
The boss itself attacks with two elements - Hydro and Electro, the predominant one depends on the phase of the battle. On the latter, he uses both, but is not immune to either. The most effective against him will be Pyro characters (capable of causing Steam and Overload reactions), Electro (to cause the Charged reaction), Cryo (there are many good damage dealers among the heroes with this element).
Childe deals a lot of damage and can just oneshot, so take a healer: Barbara Genie, Qi qi or Dion. The first two will be a very good choice, because thanks to their ult they are able to heal the entire squad at once (including its inactive members) and not expose low-health characters to attack. Also suitable for the team Zhongli or Tom, thanks to their good shields and damage.
Best Team Options
If you have a large number of heroes, then it will be quite easy to make a squad. The following options will work well against Tartaglia:
Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 |
---|---|---|---|
Free Squad
But you can defeat him even without having a large number of characters. The starting team will also cope with this, so you can take the following heroes:
How to beat Childe in Genshin Impact
Since this boss can be quite a dangerous opponent, it is worth preparing for a campaign against him so that the battle is easier.
Destroy the shield. In phases 1 and 2, Childe uses a shield several times for a couple of seconds, which blocks all incoming damage, and then explodes, knocking the character back. He can be attacked at this point, and if enough damage is applied, the barrier will break and allow him to impose a control effect on the boss, which will be a great moment to attack.
Use potions. Childe deals only elemental damage, so potions that increase resistance to the corresponding elements will be effective against him.
- Drain Potion - Increases the Hydro resistance of the entire unit by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Isolation Potion - Increases the Electro resistance of the entire squad by 25% for 5 minutes.
Use food. Various food also helps against him, increasing the characteristics of the character for a while. This may be enough to defeat the boss.
- "Temptation of the Adept" - will give up to 372 attack power and 12% crit chance for 300 seconds;
- "Jade Pouches" or Chicken Tofu - will allow you to get up to 320 attack power and 10% crit chance for 5 minutes;
- Golden Crab - Increases Defense by a maximum of 308 and grants up to 10% Healing Bonus.
- Mooncake or Spicy Bread - Gives a maximum of 35% bonus shield durability and up to 235 defense, a good choice if you have a shielder in the squad, for example, Zhongli or Touma.
Move around. Tartaglia is not the kind of opponent that you can stand in one place fighting against. You need to constantly move to avoid area attacks (which he almost always marks on the floor) and his dashes, which also deal massive damage.
Phase 1 - Eleventh Harbinger
The first form in which Childe uses mainly ranged attacks and the Hydro element. He does not have high mobility, and therefore you will have to dodge mainly from his shots, and not a direct dash in the character's face.
- Arrows of water. The main attack is thin arrows from the Hydro element, which Tartaglia fires directly at the character. Fires 4 shots. Hitting the hero pushes back, so as soon as he begins to aim, dash to the side and do not stay in one place.
- Piercing rain. Round marks appear on the floor, at which Childe, after a second, fires a hail of water arrows. It does a massive amount of damage, but is easy enough to avoid by simply sprinting or dashing out of range.
- Cold splash. The transition to a close stance is accompanied by a dash towards the character and Hydro damage in the area around him. Avoiding an attack is easy by keeping your distance and attacking from a distance, best done by bow or catalyst wielders.
- Water rush. The boss becomes a stream of water and makes a dash. Can be ignored, because this skill does not deal damage and serves only for fast movement.
- Explosive waves. Jumping into the air, Tartaglia shoots her bow up to 6 times in a row. The charges look like huge waves. The greater the distance between him and the character, the easier it is to dodge them. It is better not to stay in one place, so as not to receive damage.
- Summon Sky Whale. One of the strongest attacks. You can see her casting when Childe jumps to the edge of the arena and begins to charge the next shot, and the waves go across the field. The whale strikes almost the entire battle arena. You can dodge it if you are as close as possible to the outer edge of the site and not far from the boss itself - the attack does not cover this area, which means it does not cause damage in it.
- Hydrobarrier. The very shield that needs to be broken in order to attack a weakened boss.
Phase 2 - Eye of Corruption
The element changes to Electro, and with it the fighting style. Attacks become faster, jerks and debilitating skills are added to the arsenal. This stage is great for melee heroes with a lot of health or a shield to make them harder to knock down.
- Blade strike. Childe dashes towards the character and strikes with the blades in front of him. A hit with this attack knocks back. You can avoid it by running to the side or back at the start of the animation. This skill has a fixed range.
- Explosion Electro. A nasty attack that casts very quickly. Childe collects electricity from his daggers and explodes, damaging anyone near him. You can avoid it by retreating in time or by fighting at a distance.
- Electrical barrier. The second version of the shield to be destroyed works exactly the same as in the first phase.
- A flash of black lightning. The most annoying of his attacks. When becoming a lightning bolt, Childe dashes through the character up to 5 times, each of which damages and knocks up, preventing the next one from being avoided. You can either block with a shield and not be knocked down, or run to the side after the first one - if the boss misses with a dash, the combo stops.
- Living storm. The same harmless skill as in the first stage, used only for fast movement.
- Punishing rank. A ring of Electro element is hung on the character, and Tartaglia begins to accumulate energy, marking a small area in front of him. After about 2 seconds, he jumps and strikes down, exploding the ring (if he hits the character at that moment) and dealing a lot of damage. Avoiding this attack is quite difficult due to the teleportation of the enemy, but it is possible if you are in constant sprinting movement.
- Thunder dance. Melee combo attack with Electro damage. The last of the hits deals area damage and knocks back heroes. The easiest way to dodge her is to run far enough away that the boss won't be able to reach her.
Phase 3 - Spirit Form
The boss releases all his power and takes on a new form. Now he uses attacks from both elements and can fight both in melee and ranged combat. In general, he is about the same mobile and does not tend to get close to the character as often. His attacks are taken from the previous two phases and strengthened. There are pauses of a few seconds between them, and this is a great moment for an attack.
- Teleport. Replaces jerks and is also a harmless skill. At the same time, he is more sudden, and now Childe often appears right in front of the character's face.
- Spear attack. Tartaglia attacks in front of him with a spear 4 times in a row. You can avoid damage from the skill if you run to the side or behind the enemy.
- Arrows of water. The same archery shots that were in the first stage, the technique of evading them does not change.
- Water Blades. Childe fires several Hydro blades that fly across the field and deal damage on contact. The greater the distance, the easier it is to finish this skill, it is best to step aside, because the projectile flies in a straight line.
- Lightning dash. A stronger version of Flash from the previous phase, but with a larger area of effect. You can also avoid by putting shields on yourself or moving in a circle on the edge of the battlefield. There can be up to 5 dashes in total, and there is a chance that the skill will be canceled after a miss.
- Dark blade. A powerful circular blow at close range, the projectile from which spreads to the entire map, moving. However, the best way to dodge the skill is to stay close to the boss so you don't take damage from the wave.
- Summon Sky Whale. The skill is familiar from the first phase and the method of evasion remains the same - stay close to the boss outside the whale's kill zone. It has an even larger drop area.
- Piercing downpour. A stronger version of Piercing Rain. The marks cover the entire field, becoming much larger. They are not activated sequentially, but all at once, which makes the skill much more dangerous. The preparation of the skill can be seen when Childe starts loading the arrow and marks appear on the floor. The only area clear of them is located in the center of the hall. You need to run there as quickly as possible when the cast starts.
- Executing rank. Also enhanced previous skill. Tartaglia marks the character and zone where the damage is being dealt, and then unleashes bolts of lightning at the chosen location. You can avoid them by leaving the marked field with a sprint or dash.
- Hydro explosions. A third-phase attack consisting of several successive bursts of Hydro energy that occur in a straight line. They can be easily seen and dodged by moving diagonally.
