Join Wuthering Waves: guide & build

A guide to creating the best build for Chixiu, the young Jinzhou patrolwoman in Wuthering Waves.

Chixia is a free four-star character that is given to the player almost at the very beginning of the game. The girl uses pistols as a weapon, and her element is Fusion. Chixia plays as a hypercarry, whose goal is to inflict as much damage as possible. The girl requires precise control and competent micromanagement to maximize her potential as a main damage dealer.

However, despite this, she is still a great character for beginners, as she can deal solid damage from afar, is very mobile, and has intuitive gameplay. In this guide, we will tell you about the Chisi build, including the best weapons, Echo, stats, and materials for pumping.

As you learn talents in the Skills tab, Chisya gains an additional increase to her Fusion Damage bonus and a 12% attack power bonus.

Chisi's abilities

In Wusing Waves, Chisya is the main damage dealer, possessing one of the strongest ultimates in the game, as well as unique run`n`gun gameplay. She is usually played in teams where she must spend a lot of time on the battlefield to maximize her damage. Let's take a closer look at how all of Chisya's abilities work and in what order to upgrade them. Additionally, we will tell you what improvements can be unlocked by studying skills in the Active Skills tab and opening Resonant Circuits.

Active abilities

Basic and Heavy Attack, Air Attack, Counter Attack [POW POW]:

  • Basic Attack - Fires up to 4 consecutive shots at one target, dealing Fusion damage.
  • Heavy Attack - Chisya enters aiming mode for a more powerful shot. The fired shot deals Fusion damage.
  • Mid-air Attack - Chisya spends her stamina to fire consecutive shots at a single airborne target, dealing Fusion damage.
  • Counterattack [Dodge Counter] - Using a basic attack after a successful parry and dodge will deal a counterattack with increased Fusion damage.

Forte Circuit: Heroic Bullets — Chisi accumulates Thermobaric Bullets in her Resonance Scale, up to 60 of which can be accumulated. They are restored for each hit from a normal attack, Resonance skill, and Intro skill.

Resonance Skill: Whizzing Fight Spirit — Chisya fires a barrage of shots, dealing Fusion damage. The Inexhaustible Fighting Spirit skill has two charges, meaning it can be used twice in a row. When pressed quickly, Chisya will accumulate Thermobaric Bullets, and when pressed for a long time, she will use them up, dealing increased Fusion damage.

  • Resonance Skill: DAKA DAKA! - Long press Chisya enters the DAKKA DAKKA! state, constantly using Thermobaric Bullets and attacking the target with Fusion damage. This damage is considered Resonance Skill damage. Press Basic Attack to use the 4th attack and end this state.
  • Resonance Skill: BOOM BOOM - If during the "DAKA DAKA!" state Chisya has used 30 Thermobaric Bullets, then when using the finishing basic attack Chisya will use Resonance Skill: BOOM BOOM and also end this state.

Resonance Liberation: Blazing Flame - Chisya quickly fires at nearby enemies, spending accumulated Thermobaric Bullets and dealing Fusion damage.

Passive skills

Inherent Skill 1 [Inherent Skill: Scorching Magazine] - The maximum number of Thermobaric Bullets has been increased by 10. The damage dealt by Resonance Skill: BOOM BOOM is increased by 50%.

Inherent Skill 2 [Inherent Skill: Spicy and Numbing] - Each Thermobaric Bullet that hits the target during Resonance Skill: "DAKA DAKA!" increases ATK by 1%. The effect can stack up to 30 times.

Switching skills

Intro Skill: Grand Entrance — Chisya bravely steps forward and quickly fires at the target with both pistols, dealing damage to Fusion.

Outro Skill: Leaping Flames - Chisya releases a shockwave that deals 530% Fusion damage, scaling with Chisya's attack power.

Resonant circuits (consts)

The main character of the game [Hero Play Fun] Shots from Resonance Skill: BOOM BOOM will always be critical.
Leaping Sparkles During Resonant Release, for every 1 target hit, Chisya restores 5 units of Resonant Energy, stacking up to 20 times.
Eternal Flames Resonant Release deals 40% more damage to targets whose HP is below 50%.
Hero's Ultimate Move After using Resonant Release, Chixia gains 60 Thermobaric Bullets and immediately restores the cooldown of Resonance Skill: Inexhaustible Fighting Spirit.
Triumphant Explosions When Spicy and Numbing's Innate Talent reaches max stacks, Chisi's ATK increases by 30%.
Easter Egg [Easter Egg Performance] When using Resonance Skill: BOOM BOOM, Chisya grants a 25% attack bonus to all party members for 15 seconds.

The best consts on Chisyu are Cost-1, Cost-3, Cost-4.

  • Resonance Skill: BOOM BOOM is Chisi's main source of damage, so it's guaranteed to land critical hits from the opening first chain simply irreplaceable. This will allow you to focus more on pumping critical damage, attack power, Fusion damage bonus, and not on the crit. chance indicators (but at the same time you still shouldn't forget about it, since you may still need crit. chance for her ultimate, for example).
  • Third chain Improves Chishu's single-target play, especially against bosses with high health. She is also good for clearing out crowds of low health enemies if needed.
  • Fourth circuit is amazing because it allows Chisa to use Thermobaric Bullets to their maximum with each ultimate, which will greatly increase her damage and help her whittle down enemy health bars faster.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages Disadvantages
Lots of strong ranged attacks that can hit most enemies, even if they dodge or can fly. Less opportunities to parry, as it is more difficult for ranged characters to do so.
A very simple and easy to use character, with simple combos and rotation. Other than her ultimate, she is best against single targets. On bosses, Chisya will not be able to fully utilize the potential of her Resonant Release.
Her ultimate is great for dealing with hordes of enemies. Needs a decent % of energy restoration, her ultimate is the most expensive among other damage dealers in WoW.
Very mobile, changing body position is built into many of her skills. Vulnerable to interruption while long pressing Resonance Skill, which will cause a large damage loss if cancelled.

Skill Improvement Order

Resonance Scale > Resonance Release > Resonance Skill ≥ Basic Attack > Intro Skill.

Looking at Chisi's guide in more detail, it's worth separately studying the order of pumping her main abilities:

  • Resonance Gauge [Forte Circuit: Heroic Bullets] is Chisi's most important skill, as it accounts for the majority of her damage output. Even though the ability is activated by her Resonance Skill, the damage is based on the level of her Resonance Scale.
  • Resonance Liberation: Blazing Flame - Chisi's ultimate should be her second most important, as it is her only source of AoE damage other than her Outro skill. It is also her second highest damage skill after Resonance Scale.

The Normal Attack and Resonance Skills also need to be upgraded, but only after the first two. The Intro Skill can either be skipped or upgraded much later, when additional materials become available.

Best Chishu Build in Wuthering Waves

Let's take a look at the exact numbers, best gear, and allies to build a quality Chisyu in WuWa.

Recommended value of characteristics

  • Attack: 1700-2000+
  • Health: 13500+
  • Defense: 1000+
  • Fusion Damage Bonus: 52-82%
  • Critical Hit Chance: 50-70%
  • Critical Damage: 250-260%
  • Energy recovery: 135-145%

Note that Chisi has the most expensive ultimate among damage dealers, its cost is 150 units. It also generates resonance energy very poorly, so the girl needs a little help from her team and VE indicators in the Echo substats. In order to ult as often as possible on C0 Chisi, it is recommended to collect at least 135-145% energy recovery.

Also, while Chisi's ultimate isn't necessary for her to function, it makes up a large portion of her damage output. Without it, content will be significantly more difficult, but not impossible.

Echo's Choice

Best Echoes for Chisi:

Echo Set Main Echo for dialing Recommendations

Molten Rift

2 parts: Increases Fusion damage by 10%.

5 pieces: After using Resonance skill, increases Fusion damage by 30% for 15 sec.

Inferno Rider
Effect: Transforms into Hell Rider and performs 3 slashes, each dealing 151.50-242.40%, 176.75-282.20% and 176.75-282.20% Fusion damage respectively. After the finishing blow, increases the character's Fusion damage and basic attack damage by 12% for 15 sec. Long pressing the ability transforms the resonator into Inferno Rider and switches it to "racing mode", during which you can move around the world on a motorcycle for some time. Exiting the mode deals 12% Fusion damage to nearby enemies. Cooldown is 20 sec.
Hell Rider deals massive damage with his attacks while generating a decent amount of Resonant Energy, as well as increasing Attack Power and Fusion damage, making him an ideal Echo, but with a caveat. The thing is, he has very long attack animations, and while they can be skipped by changing characters, it takes a bit of practice to learn how to do it without losing damage.

Molten Rift

2 parts: Increases Fusion damage by 10%.

Moonlit Clouds

2 parts: energy recovery speed increases by 10%.

Inferno Rider
Effect: Transforms into a Hell Rider and performs 3 slashing attacks, each of which deals 151.50-242.40%, 176.75-282.20% and 176.75-282.20% Fusion damage respectively. After the finishing blow, increases the character's Fusion damage and the damage of his basic attacks by 12% for 15 sec. Long pressing the ability transforms the resonator into an Inferno Rider and switches it to "racing mode", during which you can move around the world on a motorcycle for some time. Exiting the mode deals 12% Fusion damage to nearby enemies. Cooldown is 20 sec.
This set increases the usage rate of Chixi's Resonant Release. While it's not a cornerstone of Chixi's playstyle, it's extremely useful when dealing with crowds of enemies.

Molten Rift

2 parts: Increases Fusion damage by 10%.

Lingering Tunes

2 parts: attack power increases by 10%.

Inferno Rider
Effect:
Transforms into a Hell Rider and performs 3 slashing attacks, each of which deals 151.50-242.40%, 176.75-282.20% and 176.75-282.20% Fusion damage respectively.
The third best option for Chisi, as it increases both Fusion damage and attack power. Use it only if there is not enough Echo to create better Sonatas.

Lingering Tunes
2 pieces: Attack power increases by 10%. 5 pieces: While the equipped character is on the battlefield, their attack power increases by 5% every 1,5 seconds, stacking up to 4 times. Outro skill damage increases by 60%.
Mech Abomination
Effect:
Strikes enemies in front, dealing 30,40-48,64% Electro damage. Summons mechs to attack targets. Summoned mechs deal 200-320% Electro damage and explode after a while, dealing an additional 100-160% Electro damage. After using this Echo's skill, the character's attack power increases by 12% for 15 sec. Damage dealt by mechs is considered Outro damage of the skill. Cooldown is 15 sec.
Lingering Tunes isn't a bad alternative for Chisya, as she takes up a lot of time on the battlefield. The problem lies in Echo, the Mechanical Abomination itself. The only noticeable effect it has on Chisya is the ATK bonus and the fast animation. Chisya won't be able to fully utilize the damage this Echo does, as it scales with the Resonator's Electro damage bonus.

Molten Rift

2 parts: Increases Fusion damage by 10%.

5 pieces: After using Resonance skill, increases Fusion damage by 30% for 15 sec.

Viridblaze Saurian
Effect:
You summon a Viridblaze Saurian that will spit fire (up to 10 times), dealing 10,70-17,12% Fusion damage. Cooldown is 15 sec.
You can use this Echo in two cases: if you have just started your game path or are tired of the long casting of Hell Racer animations. Then the huge monitor lizard is the only alternative. Using it, you exchange the attack bonus and Fusion damage given by the Racer for convenience and get rid of the need to interrupt animations. The lizard also does not interfere with the active character on the battlefield. This is where the advantages of this Echo end, since its damage is very mediocre, it does not give any buffs or bonuses, and is rather given in the table as an introduction.

Recommended stats to look for in Echo's core stats:

4 cost Critical Damage/Critical Hit Chance
3 cost Fusion Damage Bonus
3 cost Fusion Damage Bonus
1 cost ATK
1 cost ATK

Focus on increasing Fusion damage and critical stats so that Chisya can deal as much damage as possible. If she is C1, you can prioritize critical damage more since the first chain makes all her hits when using Resonance Skill critical.

Secondary stats that you need to unlock in Echo to get the most benefit (from most to least important):

  • Critical Hit Chance/Critical Damage
  • Energy restoration (from 30 to 50%)
  • Attack power, both in % and without.
  • Res. Liberation DMG Bonus

Detachments for Chisi

Considering all the features of Chisi and her needs for partners, we will provide the most suitable characters and squads for her.

Best characters

List of heroes that are best suited for Chisi's squad:

CharacterClassElementFeatures
MortefiChisi's rotation includes several high-hit-rate skills, allowing her to easily follow up with Mortephy's Resonant Release.
TaoqiA significant portion of Chisei's damage is considered Resonance Skill damage, so she values the boosts that Taoci's Outro Skill provides highly.
BaizhiBaiji's outro skill only buffs the next active character, which is perfect for Chisa, who needs to spend a lot of time on the battlefield to maximize damage. Don't forget to pick up the [Euphoria] that Yu-tan leaves behind!
JianxinVery useful due to the enemy pull, shield and some healing. Can be useful in the Tower of Adversity.
Verina [Verina]Verina is a great matchup with all major and minor DDs, and Chisya is no exception. She brings a lot of attack power to the team, and on top of that, Verina's combos are short and don't take up much time on the field.
Chang Lee [Changli]At the moment, Chang Li  The only resonator that gives a Fusion damage bonus with its Outro skill, which is extremely important for Chisi.
ShorekeeperThe Guardian of the Shores is incredibly versatile thanks to her versatile buffs: bonus ATK, increased critical damage, critical hit chance, knockdown protection, and lethal damage. This makes her a great support in most main-sub DD teams.

Best Squads

The most effective commands for Chisi, allowing you to easily clear content at different stages of account development.

Main-ddSub-ddSupportFeatures
ChixiaChang Lee [Changli]Guardian of the Shores [Shorekeeper]
Verina [Verina]
At the moment, the best team for Chisya. Chisya a great option Fusion main DD, which can work in a team with Chan Li. In this team Chan Li can become both a secondary damage dealer and a second main damage dealer, but the most important thing that is required from Chan Li  This is her Outro skill, the only one that currently provides a bonus to Fusion damage. As soon as Chan Li enters the battlefield, fill her Resonance Gauge as quickly as possible so that Chisya can replace her and deal damage. Guardian will generally increase the overall DPS of the team and provide good survivability. As a more accessible analogue, Verina can be used instead of Guardian.
ChixiaMortefi [Mortefi]
Taoqi
Verina [Verina]
Baiji [Baizhi]
Chisya hardly uses heavy attacks, so Mortephy's buff is not very beneficial for her, but Mortephy can wear the Moonlit Clouds set and pump up Chisya's energy. On the sixth chain, he unlocks a 20% bonus to ATK for the entire team, and his Resonant Release will allow him to make coordinated attacks with Chisya. Instead of Mortephy, Taoqi with her Outro skill is a good choice, Baiji/Verina heals the squad and floods ATK.
ChixiaRover Spectro [Rover spectro]Verina [Verina]
Baiji [Baizhi]
Standard squad with Chisya as the main damage dealer. Chisya uses basic attacks to accumulate projectiles, then increases her damage. Rover helps her and slows down time so Chisya can deal more damage. Verina/Baiji heals the squad and increases the attack power of allies.
ChixiaYang Yang [Yangyang]Jianxin [Jianxin]
A budget team for the early levels, where Chixia acts as the main damage dealer. Yang Yang pumps up energy and deals extra damage. Jianxin allows Chixia to stay on the battlefield longer with shields and healing to maximize damage.

Chisya: rotation

One of the positives of Chisya is that the rotation when playing her is not at all complicated. Generally speaking, all you need to do is fill the Concerto energy bar on supports, collect bonuses from them, and switch to Chisya so that the buffs work on her. And since the girl needs to spend a lot of time on the battlefield to maximize damage, the buffs are very useful.

Example rotation on the best team for Chixi (Chixia, Chang Li, Guardian of the Shores):

  1. The rotation begins with Guardian of the Shores, using her normal attacks to create butterflies, charge her Concerto energy bar, and build up her Ultimate.
  2. Once Guardian's Ultimate is available, use it. Then switch to Chan Li (must have a full Concerto Energy Gauge!) to use her Intro Skill and instantly gain 4 Resonance Gauge segments.
  3. Build up segments and use the enhanced Heavy Attack until Chang Li's Resonant Release is available.
  4. After using Chan Li's Resonant Release, use her enhanced Heavy Attack. At this point, the Concerto energy should fill up again. Once this happens, switch to Chixiu to increase her Fusion damage and Resonant Release damage.
  5. Using the buffs from Guardian of the Shores and Chang Li, play Chixiu to deal maximum damage while charging her with Concerta energy. Once the ultimate is built up, use it.
  6. Once you have collected enough Concerto energy, switch back to the Guardian of the Shores to activate her Resonant Release. Repeat until all enemies are defeated.

Сonclusion

Chisya is free, relatively strong and easy to build cons on, but all the problems are hidden in her skills. Resonance skill: "BOOM BOOM" is Chisya's main source of damage, but its casting time is about 4 seconds (that's how long it takes to spend 30 bullets), and the girl has no defense against interruption, and when hit or canceled by animation (by dodging, for example), she leaves the "DAKA DAKA!" state and loses the lion's share of damage.

She is also very picky about stats for a 4-star character. Patrol needs both attack power, and crit chance, and crit damage, and even a little VE is recommended to gain. Due to these shortcomings, most newbies soon trade Chisya for someone more convenient. And in endgame content, such as the Tower of Tribulations, Chisya is very rarely seen due to her focus on hitting only one target, a long time spent on the battlefield, and difficulty in balancing stats. However, if you can overcome these obstacles, Chisya will become an excellent long-range damage dealer with unique gameplay.

We hope this guide helped you put together the best Chishu build in Wowering Waves. Read on for a detailed game guide for beginners and new manuals on the website in Wuthering Waves section.
