Cyberpunk 2077 is a rather unusual and therefore interesting game in the genre action adventure. In it, V, wanting to be better, can take any path and in the end become an unstoppable warrior.
Shotgun lovers should look in the open spaces of Night City for a rather interesting specimen called Carnage. This shotgun has excellent damage indicators, which you can optionally to disperse.
The Wotpack editors have prepared a guide for shotgun lovers, which reveals all the advantages of the unofficial leader of our top best shotguns in Cyberpunk 2077 - Carnage.
Information
This build, as already mentioned, uses all the advantages of Carnage - one of the best shotguns in the game.
What makes this weapon different from most others? At a minimum, the Carnage we are considering shoots twice as many pellets at a time (20) compared to all others that have a maximum of ten pellets or even less from the barrel.
How this build works unlike others is that you stack damage resistance and armor, and then you enter the battle in the style of the Terminator, hitting and even exploding opponents in your path. V every second will become stronger and stronger after any kill thanks to equanimity. The buff itself will give additional bonuses, due to which the enemy dies faster, and the character takes even less damage.
In addition, Carnage is guaranteed to knock down enemies even from a medium distance, which allows you to interrupt attacks on the character.
And very often if you have Carnage with fire or chemical damage type, the enemy will almost immediately have the Bleeding debuff, which will eventually lead to a quick death, albeit not from the first shot.

Leveling Attributes
If you want to follow the path of the destroyer, in whose hands is Carnage, then you need to pump Force и composure. You can also invest a little in parameters such as Intelligence и Reflexes.
Why so?
- Force increases health and stamina, and is also responsible for athletics (movement perks) and Destruction (skills with shotguns and light machine guns).
- composure needed to access Equanimity and Stealth.
- Intelligence allows you to use demons (if the Berserk system is not used), as well as a cyberdeck to increase crit.
- Reflexes well raise the chance of a critical hit, as well as the speed of movement.
Ultimately your attributes should look something like this:
- composure: 20
- Force: 20
- Intelligence: 9
- Reflexes: 7
Although the player needs much more composure, rather than Energy, Wee first should focus on the latter. By opening the Annihilation perks, the gamer can make the use of the shotgun more deadly.
Perks
In this section, we will look at what perks V should acquire in order to get the highest possible profit.
Strength => Destruction
- Shooting without pause. The first perk that you need to immediately pump. Allows you to reduce reload time. Accordingly, the shotgun will be ready for battle earlier. Taking into account the long filling of the store at Carnage - perk required.
- Volley. Increases "white" shotgun damage. Let the increase be small, but in the future the damage will be quite significant.
- big target. With this perk, you don't have to aim just for the head. Now the enemy takes more damage when hit in the body.
- Pogrom. A modest increase in crit chance when using a shotgun. The more crits, the more damage.
- Dead body road. V gains increased movement speed after killing an enemy. Speeds up movement on the battlefield.
- Mongoose. Increases agility by 25% when reloading.
- Rye. The skill with which a character with a shotgun in his hands will move faster. Combines with Road of Corpses.
- Shooting. Increased crit. The basis of the critical part of the build. Without this skill, it will not be possible to make each shot critical.
- Skeet. Damage increase against moving targets. With a shotgun, some enemies will die before they even reach cover.
- Murder speed. Your shotgun damage will increase as you move. The faster V, the more damage.
Strength => Athletics
- Invulnerability. The skill allows the hero to achieve not only an increase in health, but also greater resistance to damage. V lives longer and is harder to kill.
- Divided Attention. There is a chance to recharge while running, jumping or sliding. This greatly expands the possibilities of V.
- Multitasking. Everything is the same as in the previous skill, only instead of reloading - shooting.
Composure - Stealth and Equanimity branches
- Equanimity. Complex buff that lasts 10 seconds. Properties depend on the hero himself. Activates when an enemy dies at the hands of the player. At first, only an increase in movement speed, but as you move along the skill tree of the same name, other advantages will open up. It is worth taking immediately, so that already at the second level of the perk there is the possibility of increasing the chance of a critical strike.
- Will to live. The perk increases resistance with each kill. An additional survivability buff will be needed at higher difficulty levels.
- Critical situation. Increases the duration of the buff. A must-buy perk.
- Lethality. After activation, there is an increase in damage against human enemies, and there are a lot of them in Cyberpunk 2077. When it comes to the issue of damage, you need all the skills that can be pumped.
- Protective coagulation. Another skill from the "survival" category, which will give armor with each stack of Equanimity.
- Deadly Accuracy. Increased headshot damage. If you take a smart weapon and still aim at the head, then the damage will be terribly high.
- Cold calculation. Critical damage dealt to an enemy grants a chance to gain a stack of Equanimity. In crit builds, a couple of hits / shots are enough to score a “full stack”.
- Strike from the shadows. This skill is responsible for increasing the chance of a critical hit by 50% during the first few seconds after the start of the battle. A couple of enemies will have time to fall dead before the brawl itself begins.
- Strong nerves. This perk will allow you to quickly restore stacks of Equanimity, since V will only lose one, and not all at once.
- Steadfastness/Total Equanimity. Both perks increase the number of stacks. The more of them, the stronger the character will become. It's worth considering buying both.
- Stress resistance. This passive ability will allow you to gain a "full stack" if the player has less than 45% health.
- a swan song. When V is below 50% health, the hero's incoming damage is reduced by about the same percentage. Cooldown is one minute.
- Ruthlessness. The ultimate ability from the Equanimity branch. Activation increases critical damage and the chance of its occurrence. Need big numbers? Then you should use Ruthlessness.
What to take
Now let's take a look at what weapons, armor, and cyber decks you need to choose to play with this build.
Weapon
As mentioned earlier, V will only use one shotgun, which is what everything is built on - Carnage.
The biggest problem for everyone when creating a character based on this build is to find yourself shotgun, which could kill enemies with one shot even on the highest difficulty level.
This shotgun usually doesn't have a scope, but that's a good thing. It doesn't matter to the player. It is better to give places for mods to something more useful than a sight.
For example, you can put a recoil reduction mod in one of the slots - this will make the weapon more controllable. It is also worth taking a mod to increase damage (buy easily at the Kabuki market, the gun store is downstairs).
Armor
In terms of armor, ideally you should look for items that have bonuses to critical hit chance or critical hit. In addition to this, you can find mods with the same properties.
Cyberdeca and implants
Weapons are paramount in this build, but cyberdeck demons can help you achieve success.
First of all, the player should look for berserk-type implants, which not only increase health and stamina, but also give armor and resistance. This modification will allow you to survive even in the most hopeless situations.
Also, V with Carnage will feel just fine if he sets himself Kereznikov и synaptic accelerator. Both will allow you to temporarily activate the slow-mo mode and attack enemies, while avoiding their own damage.
Another software that is simply necessary for this build is Hypodermic armor. By passively increasing your armor, V gains more survivability. You can put at least at the beginning of the game - no requirements.
When pumping intelligence, V should use improved versions of demons that will weaken the enemy, increasing damage to them.
It is also worth looking at limbic system stimulants и visual cortex, which will increase the chance of a critical hit and critical damage.
Tips
If you want to play this particular build, then the first thing to do is learn how to shoot at a long distance at enemies when there is no way to hide. It's so easy to knock them downenough even a couple of pellets), giving yourself a chance to get closer to them and take a better position for defense.
If the player is close to the enemy, then you can just change goals often. In addition to shots, Carnage is still capable of apply debuffs in the form of burning or poisoning, if there is a certain type of damage on the cannon. So it will turn out to kill the enemy not with a shot, but with a status.
Cooldown is a major headache with this build as Carnage has a very long cooldown. However with the right feathers the situation can be improved, even if not completely. It is worth taking those that are aimed at speeding up the process or give a chance to perform other actions when reloading.
Lastly, shoot from the hip. You don't always need to aim, you can make a good shot anyway. And when reloading, it’s still better to hit right away than to aim. Saving a few seconds of time will save a life.
Carnage in this build is our everything, so it's worth handling it properly if you want to become unstoppable. Like how Terminator. Yes, just like him.
