Natlan in Genshin impact is the sixth of Teyvat's seven playable regions, representing the Pyro element and worshiping the Archon of War. The Southern Firelands, which extend beyond the Sumerian deserts, are a popular tourist destination among all inhabitants of the mainland and islands. However, due to the ambiguous situation in the kingdom, not much information has accumulated about it over the several years of the game’s existence.

Pyro Region in Genshin Impact – Natlan
Natlan is a Pyro kingdom located primarily in the southwestern portion of Teyvat. The Natlans, also known as "Muratans," worshiped the War Goddess Murata. However, the lands are now ruled by the Pyro Archon Mavuika, who has a plan to save the region from the scourge of the Abyss.
Earlier in the game's story, influential characters often associated the region with "wars that rage like flames" and internecine conflicts, due to the many problems faced by its inhabitants and their saurian companions. Despite the colorful open world, the trailer revealed that a terrible threat looms over the kingdom, which could lead to its fall soon. In addition to the warlike inhabitants fighting on their land, Natlan is also famous among the residents of Teyvat for its spas. Which country is the prototype of Natlan
Based on the official teaser of Teyvat and Natlan, as well as references to the region in the manga and the game itself, it was concluded that the kingdom was created on the basis of several cultures at once.
The main prototype of Natlan is considered to be Latin America pre-Columbian period. Players believe that the culture of the Maya civilization had the greatest influence on the general appearance of the region.
The most attentive fans of the game paid attention to the music used in Teyvat's teaser in an excerpt representing the fifth chapter of the plot. Part of the Piro Kingdom in version 5.1 is represented in the form of a vast area of canyons, inhabited by residents of the Nanatzkayan and Huitztitlan peoples, as well as the southern islands, where the Metztli Hydro tribe lives. In addition to a large number of land areas, locations in the region are also represented by a giant network of caves and even floating islands.
Update 5.2 added the Pyro tribe of Tlalocan, the Cryo abode of Mictlan, and the lands of Ochkanatlan. The first settlement is located in a mountainous area and is formed on platforms and uses hot air balloons, while the second is famous for its graffiti.

How to get to Natlan
To make exploration easier for all players after the region's release, a special teleportation point is available, located between the Pyro Kingdom and Sumeru. To unlock it and get to Natlan, complete Chapter 3 of the Archon Quest Prologue "Dragon Freedom Song". You can get to the region immediately by simply passing through the remaining territories.
What does Natlan look like?
Natlan is a very bright and colorful, but no less dangerous region, combining green meadows and graffiti-painted rocks, as well as deep canyons and lava lakes. Despite the high temperature in the kingdom, which is recognized throughout Teyvat as a resort, there is a lot of greenery, trees, as well as lakes and rivers on its territory.
Much of the region is crisscrossed by mountain ranges, broken by deep cliffs. This is how nature created the canyons, the famous sights of South and North America. Rock art, another distinctive feature of the kingdom's tribal structure, can often be found on the red sandstone cliffs.
The territory of the Hydro Metztli tribe, like the culture of its inhabitants, was created on the basis of a real prototype - the Hawaiian Islands. In the lowlands adjacent to the ocean, there are extensive sandy beaches where locals relax and surf.
Walkthrough of Natlan's story
With the release of the region, a new fifth volume of the story will appear in the main storyline of the game called "Burning Ode to Resurrection", entirely dedicated to the Pyro kingdom.
In update 5.4, the fifth patch of the kingdom, there are only 5 chapters of the Natlan story and 1 interlude available:

Natlan characters in Genshin Impact
All the native inhabitants of the kingdom have one feature - a state Night Spirit, affecting their combat and exploration abilities. A similar mechanic was already encountered in Fontaine: all heroes have one of two energies pneumoniainteracting with the surrounding world.
During his entire exploration of Teyvat, the Traveler never met a single representative of Natlan, while the inhabitants of Li Yue, Inazuma and Sumeru met on the path of the protagonist long before visiting these kingdoms. The only distinguishing feature of the real “descendants of Murata” can be called bright red hair and pretty dark skin. In the prologue of the manga, Venti spoke about this during a conversation with Vennessa. It is not yet clear whether heroes similar to their Muratan ancestors will appear in the kingdom.
Mualani
Mualani — a resident of the Hydro tribe of Metztli, located in the southern part of the kingdom. The legendary Hydro catalyst has a reputation as one of the best guides in the region. Her release took place in patch 5.0.
Kachina
Kachina — a girl from the Nanatzkaian people of miners and jewelers, who live near networks of underground caves. Epic Geo Spearwoman is a young hunter of treasures hidden in the mountains and underground, and was released in patch 5.0.

Vennessa

Pyro Archon Murata
О Murate, one of the Pyro Archons, was mentioned during the storyline Venti и Zhongli, personally acquainted with the Goddess of War. However, little is known from the dialogues. Both deities spoke briefly about the deity's traits, describing her as "a hot-tempered and even nasty person".

A more detailed description of the Pyro goddess does not currently exist. Nevertheless, the theory has already been put forward by the players that the prototype for the creation of the Archon will be the next Honkai Impact character - Murata Himeko. New enemies
The territory of Natlan is home to many unique creatures and opponents, and for defeating them you can get the resources necessary to level up local heroes and improve their weapons:
- Mysterious Source Automaton: Bloodhound Hunter — an elite mechanism that is a "relative" of Fontaine's mechs and Sumeru's original designs. The source and time of its appearance are unknown, the robot exists only due to the internal transformation of the Night Spirit.
- Local robbers — each tribe has its own group of bandits: Geo — Forged Sand, Dendro — Swift Warrior, Hydro — Blade of Currents, Pyro — Winged Warrior, Cryo — Spiritual Warrior.
- Special Dragon Warriors — powerful representatives of wild tribes, closest to the elemental saurian lizards. Also presented in three variants, found only in the territories of a certain tribe: Geo — Tepetlizar warriors, Dendro — Yumkazaur warriors, Hydro — Koholasaurus warriors, Pyro — Kukusaur warriors, Krio — Iktomisaur warriors.
- Saurians — lizard-like creatures that inhabit certain areas of Natlan. They come in various elemental forms and ages: Geo — tepetlisaurus, Dendro — yumkasaurus, Hydro — kocholasaurus, Pyro — kukusaur, Cryo — ictomisaur.
- Embodiment of lava — An elite elemental creature found in areas with the highest concentration of phlogiston thermal energy. It is extremely vulnerable to Pyro powers and can be quickly destroyed by Overheat.
- Incarnation of Wayob — Elite elemental manifestations worshiped by the tribes of Natlan. In combat, they can induce the Arena state, increasing any damage dealt within a certain area. If Wyob's shield is destroyed while the Arena is active, the creature will take massive damage and quickly die.
New animals
The fauna of the Piro Kingdom is slightly different from other regions. The following creatures will be found on the territory of Natlan:
- Large animals: long-necked rhinoceros, capybara, alpaca, brown deer, flying squirrel, kakaua goat.
- Birds: red flamingo, blue spoonbill, halberdcrest, thick-feathered pheasant, current bird, flame bird.
- Insects: Pyro crystal butterfly, phlogiston aphid, crystal beetle.
- Pisces: Fighting fish, Sun fish, Unicorn fish.
New bosses
At the moment, there are 5 world bosses available in Natlan, the materials of which will be useful for leveling up new Natlanian heroes, and 1 weekly one.
Voracious Mountain King Yumkasaurus
Voracious Mountain King Yumkasaurus - the largest representative of Dendro saurians. However, he became this way not because of some anomaly, but because of his great love for snacks. In battle, the Yumkasaurus absorbs flame grenades and, setting them on fire, spits them out into the arena. Trying to ignite the fruit with Pyro's power before the creature consumes it may result in a quick victory.
Cucusaurus Tyrant of the Golden Flame
Cucusaurus Tyrant of the Golden Flame - the largest individual of the Pyro saurians. As the enemy loses health, he is able to soar into the sky and launch attacks from there. From time to time, the Kukusaurus will drop Feathers of Flame Wind into the arena, and then dive into them, causing huge fire damage over the area and restoring its own HP and energy. If the feathers are destroyed by any element that interacts with Pyro before the Saurian attacks, the enemy will exit the flight state faster.
Mysterious Source Automaton: Configurator
Mysterious Source Automaton: Configurator — an ancient device used for industrial purposes. The enemy's key feature is the creation of pillars of solid phlogiston on the battlefield, which must be destroyed during the battle.
Twilight Papilla
Twilight Papilla — a monster straight from the Abyss that can take the forms of other bosses. To remove an enemy shield in battle, it is fastest to use heroes with the Night Spirit.
Spiritually Speaking Hermit
Spiritually Speaking Hermit — a distant representative of the Pyro clan, who summons copies of herself in battle. To destroy them, you need to use heroes of the same tribe or those with fire skills.
Lord of the decayed primordial flame
Lord of the decayed primordial flame - The first weekly boss of the Pyro country, who uses the power of the earth's arteries and can change his appearance.
Pyrocules
As in any other region, in Natlan you will encounter special elemental clots of Pyro energy, called Pyrocules. Special items can be located at various points in the open area, or hidden in caves, dungeons and floating islands. With the release of the kingdom, the total number of Pyrocules will be 271 piece. The treasures found will be presented to the statue of Piro Archon as a gift and will receive valuable rewards in the form primogems, keys to the Tombs of the depths.

Mechanics and mysteries of Natlan
Exploring the territory of Natlan is complicated, and in some cases even made easier, by various mechanics unique to this region. The principles of their operation are strikingly different from those already known, and therefore it may take some time to study them.

Phlogiston
Phlogiston is a special thermal energy that exists on the territory of the kingdom in various forms and states of aggregation. Some mechanisms, and even the mechanics themselves, require this energy to operate. You can get a charge of phlogiston by absorbing its various incarnations or charging it from special objects.
Only Hydro saurians, coholasaurs, or representatives of the People of the Springs, the Metztli tribe, can move along phlogiston in liquid or ethereal form for a limited amount of time. Any other creatures and characters will not only not be able to move on this energy, but will also die quite quickly.

Night Spirit
The Night Spirit is another alternative Natlan energy, similar to phlogiston, but is unique to the player characters of the Pyro Kingdom. The stamina charge displayed to the left of the active hero is used in combat and when moving around the area. The effects of this state activate independently in battle and when switching squad members, bringing various buffs.
This same energy is also used for alternative modes of transportation (Mualani surfboard, Kinicha grappling hook, etc.) both within and outside the region. However, the consumption of special stamina is significantly higher in other kingdoms than in Natlan.

Offering system
The Fire of Tona in the Temple of Pax is the only offering system that accepts Pyro Seals, which can be found in all chests in the territory of Natlan. At release, a limited number of levels will be available for advancement, which will increase as new areas of the kingdom are released. For upgrading this system you can get various rewards: source stones, talent books, upgrade materials, blanks for creating weapons and much more.

Dungeons of Natlan
In the first area of the Pyro Kingdom, only three dungeons will be available:
- Dungeon of Mastery "Fiery Ruins"where they are mined talent books to upgrade the abilities of local characters;
- dungeon of will "Ancient Watchpoint" with rewards in the form of elevation materials for Natlan weapons;

There are no one-time dungeons with valuable rewards in the region at the time of version 5.4.
Natlan's chests
Chests are special containers found on the territory of Natlan, and containing various valuable prizes in the form of source stones, materials for upgrading heroes, 1-3⭐ weapons and artifacts, as well as Mora and Pyro of Seals. Reputation in Natlana
Natlan, like other regions of Teyvat, has its own city reputation system. However, it differs significantly from existing ones. Despite the fact that this reputation consists of the usual levels, for each of which special rewards are given in the form of recipes and a special glider, you have to collect its points in a completely different way. Natlan's overall reputation consists solely of trust points in all six tribes of the kingdom.

Natlan's new weapon
The release of the Natlan Legendary Characters has added the following 5⭐ new items to the weapon roster:
- Catalyst catch the wave, significantly increasing the owner’s HP and enhancing his normal attacks;

Saurian Control
By using phlogiston energy at certain points in Natlan, one can transform into a certain zavriana and control it for a long time to solve puzzles, move around the area and other needs. Each type of lizard is found and available for use only in the territory of a specific tribe.

Teasers of Natlana
On a stream dedicated to version 4.7, the developers showed saurians in a teaser "Journey of the Saurian". Dragons live side by side with people and have different abilities.
