Risley's Guide Genshin impact — Cryo main-dd from normal and charged attacks with Usiya mechanics. Changing his own HP when performing strikes in a stand and having the risk of knocking ice off frozen opponents, the hero requires competent play and squad selection.
In the guide, we will tell you everything you need to level up Risley, and compare the effectiveness of teams through different reactions, including Freeze and Melt. Since the order of attacks in battle can greatly depend on the presence of C1 and a healer in the group, we will separately analyze Risley's constellations and his rotation.
Risley is the manager of the underwater fortress of Meropides, where exiled criminals live. When someone praises Risley for his problem-solving skills, he simply puts his cup of tea down and picks up a newspaper. He believes he is simply giving people the peace of mind they need.

The Risley Story (biography)
Risley from Genshin Impact is the commander of a fortress on the seabed, where criminals from all over Fontaine are trapped. This fortress is a real haven for villains. Despite its inconspicuousness, conflicts of interest that arise there can lead to disaster, and anyone who plans to enter this place disappears without a sound.
Risley appears older than his age because he takes his responsibilities extremely seriously. Many are surprised at how easily he solves any problems that arise. In response to this, he always says: “You understand everything wrong. These people need a place with rules of residence. I'm just giving them the peace of mind they need."
The development of Risley's story can be found in his Legends quest "Guard dog. Rebirth in the Lands of Murmur".
How to get Risley in Genshin Impact
Risley can be knocked out in Prayer for character events in the second half patch 5.4. Date of rerun – 4 to 24 March 2025 of the year. All constellations open only during the period of its banner.
In order not to miss the Risley rerun, stay tuned banner schedules.

Risley's abilities
All of Risley's skills, including basic attacks, deal damage to Cryo. In rotation, he most often uses normal and charged attacks, which receive additional boosts due to skill and passive talents. With an elemental explosion, he attacks in an area and also applies energy ousia.
Basic skills (active skills)
Next, we’ll look at how Risley’s abilities work and in what order it’s best to level them up. In addition, we will consider the constellations and separately note those that are most useful for unlocking the maximum potential of the character.
Ferocious Fists of Frost (Normal/Charged/Down Attack)
Normal attack: Performs up to 5 quick strikes that deal Cryo damage. In addition, the normal attack chain cannot be interrupted for some time after activating Swift Ice Fang (skill) or completing a sprint. Only attacks 1 and 4 can close reactions.
Charged attack: Consumes 50 stamina, jumps up, and performs a jumping Frost Fist punch that deals area damage to Cryo. Such attacks do not have a cooldown to apply status, so Risley can cover reactions with each charge, which is extremely beneficial in units through Melt.
Attack in the fall: Rapidly falls to the ground, attacking all enemies in its path. Upon landing, deals damage to Cryo in an area.
Swift Ice Fang (Elemental Skill)
Duration: 10 sec.
Cooldown time: 10 sec.
Dashes a short distance and enters a state Chilling punishment:
- Interruption resistance increases.
- If HP is more than 50%, deals more damage with a series of normal attacks, and when hitting enemies, loses 4,5% HP every 0,1 sec.
The effect ends when Risley leaves the battlefield.
Bite of the black-golden wolf (elemental explosion)
Cooldown time: 15 sec.
Energy consumption: 60 units
Performs a Frost Strike, dealing multiple Cryo damage in an area in front of itself.
Arche: Usiya – after completion of the Frost Strike, the Blade of Stormy Waters descends on the enemy’s position and inflicts Ushii damage on Cryo. Cooldown: 10 sec.
The order of leveling talents
Normal Attacks ≥ Elemental Skill (E) > Elemental Burst (Q)
- Normal attacks make up the largest portion of the damage dealt, so priority is given to them first.
- Elemental Skill works as a boost to normal attacks, it is recommended to level it up in parallel to get maximum damage.
- After that it is pumped up element explosion, which also plays an important role in rotation and allows you to deal a decent amount of damage in an area.
Passive skills
Let's look at all of Risley's passive skills in the table:
Talent | Description |
May justice prevail | When Risley's HP is below 60%, he receives Graceful retribution. His next charged attack With fierce fists of cold intensifies to Punishments: Jumping Frost Fist. It does not consume stamina, deals 50% increased damage, and hitting an enemy restores Risley's HP equal to 30% of his max. HP. Graceful retribution can be obtained in this way no more than 1 time every 5 sec. |
May the time of retribution for sins come | When Risley's current HP increases or decreases while he is in the Chilling Punishment state Swift Ice Fang, Chilling Punishment gains one level of Charge Decree. The effect stacks up to 5 times. Each level of effect increases Risley's attack power by 6%. |
Grace of the Duke | When creating Ascension Materials, the weapon has a 10% chance to create an additional item. |
We also separately note the talent "Let justice prevail".
May justice prevail
Description: When Risley's HP is below 60%, he receives Graceful retribution.
This passive ability is designed to enhance charged attacks. When Risley's HP drops below 60%, he is surrounded by dark aura, indicating the effect of this talent. Attack with a charged strike to deal a large amount of damage, restore HP, and not lose any stamina.
The main difficulty with implementing this talent is that at C0 Risley reduces his health more often than he restores it, and the buff from normal hits only works when HP is above 50%. Thus, in order to maintain both buffs, it is necessary to keep Risley's health between 50% and 60%, which is extremely difficult.
This problem can be partly solved if you are not under treatment the entire time you are standing. Get your health down to <60% and get a bonus, then heal Risley. So save the buff on the charged attack and the damage of normal attacks from the E-shka enhancement.
Additionally, this issue becomes irrelevant when unlocking C1, as the first constellation allows you to use the buff and heal yourself more often. This increase is enough to maintain HP above 50% without a healer on the team and activate a charged attack more often.
Constellations
The table shows all the constellations:
Name | Description |
1. Keep the bad guys at bay | Graceful recovery of passive talent "Let justice prevail" changes: While Risley's HP is below 60% or he is under the Chilling Punishment of Swift Ice Fang, when the opponent is hit by the fifth blow of Fists of Banishment, Risley receives Graceful Reprimand. One effect of Graceful Seek can be obtained 1 time per 2,5 sec. In addition, Reprimand: Jumping Frost Fist gains the following buffs:
|
2. Put the arrogant in shackles | During use Black-golden wolf bite (elemental explosion) each level of the Decree on charging a passive talent "Let the time of retribution for sins come" Increases ultimate damage by 40%. Maximum – 200%. |
3. Punish the greedy and dishonest | Level Fierce Fists of Frost (Base Attack) +3. Max. level: 15. |
4. Bring salvation to the suffering |
HP restored by Risley's Reprimand: Jumping Frost Fist (passive talent "Let justice prevail") will increase by 50% of its max. HP. In addition, when receiving treatment in excess, depending on whether Risley is on the battlefield or not, different effects are activated:
These effects are not cumulative. |
5. Pardon those unjustly accused | Level Bite of the black-golden wolf (elemental explosion) +3. Max. level: 15. |
6. Cherish the innocent | Increases critical chance. hits of Punishment: Frost fist while jumping by 10%, and its crit. damage – by 80% (passive talent "Let justice prevail"). In addition, it additionally releases an icicle that deals 100% of the initial Cryo Damage. This damage is considered the damage of a charged attack. |
Risley's best constellations – С1, С2 и С6:
- first constellation – May Justice Prevail talent buff, which enhances Risley's charged strike. Now the passive triggers more often (instead of 1 time every 5 sec. - 1 time every 2,5 sec.), increases overall damage by an average of 9-38% depending on the situation and makes it possible to play without a healer without losing the buff from the elemental skill . Thanks to it, the need to lose health to activate the talent disappears, since the effect begins to trigger on every 5th attack.
- Second constellation – talent buff “Let the time of retribution for sins come.” When Risley's HP increases or decreases while in the skill's Chilling Punishment state, he gains levels of Indictment Decree (up to 5 times). Previously, stacks only affected attack power, but now they also increase the damage of elemental explosions by 40% (for all stacks - by 200%).
- sixth constellation – increases the chance of crit. hits and crit. Damage of Reprimand: Jumping Frost Fist (charged attack of the passive talent “Let Justice Prevail”), and also makes it possible to perform an additional. charged blow. Thanks to this, the chance of casting Cryo and the overall DPS of the character increases.
Advantages and disadvantages of Risley
Once you understand how Risley's skills, constellations, and talents work, you can draw conclusions about his strengths and weaknesses.
Advantages | Disadvantages |
High personal damage when using normal and charged attacks, as well as elemental explosions. | Some of the best allies - 5 ⭐ limited characters (Shen He и Kazuha). There are alternative supports for Risley, but these are the ones with which he reveals himself especially well. |
Risley's main stat is critical damage, which simplifies the balance of characteristics when selecting weapons and artifacts. | In addition to choosing the right allies, it is important to maintain rotation, monitor HP and stamina during battle so that the hero shows his maximum. damage numbers. |
Has resistance to interrupting attacks from the skill and restores its health thanks to the passive talent “Let Justice Prevail.” | Before C1, the passive "Let Justice Prevail" only works when Risley's HP is below 60%, making it difficult to play against healers. |
A versatile Cryo DD capable of playing in various squad builds: through Melt, Freeze, mono-Cryo and much more. | To unlock maximum potential, you need the signature weapon “Treasury Surveillance”. Risley can carry other books, but with them the damage is noticeably lower. |
The passive talent “Duke's Grace” allows you to create additional. item when elevating a weapon with a 10% chance. | |
Constellations, although strong, are not at all mandatory. The only thing that can be highlighted is C1, since it makes it possible to play more effectively with shield warriors. | |
Being a Cryo Catalyst, it easily reacts as it has a constant infusion for all types of attacks. |
Leveling up Risley
In this paragraph, we will consider what materials are needed to pump Risley to the maximum level.
Elevation
To ascend Risley, the following resources are required:
- Shards, fragments, pieces and gems Jade Shivada. They drop from bosses: cryo fern, Primo Geovishap, wolf lord, Perpetual Mechanical Array, Magu kenki, Aeonblight Drake, Vishaps of the depths. They can also be created at an alchemy workbench using Nitrogen dust.
- Gears (interlocking, mechanism and strange) - can be obtained for defeating meks or buy for Star Shine at Paimon store.
- Detection subblock is a Fontaine curiosity that can be found in the wild and around the Fontaine Kinetic Energy Research Institute.
- Tourbillon - resource from boss Experimental field generator.
- 420 000 Mora and 421 hero experience.
Talents
To increase the level of Risley's skills, in addition to Gears, the following materials are used:
- Teachings, instructions and philosophy about "Okay" - talent books from the mastery dungeon "Pale Forgotten Flower". Farmed on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Primordial Oasis Flower - material from the weekly boss Apepa Oasis Guardian.
- Crown of Insight - an item for pumping talents up to level 10.
- 1 653 000 Mora.
You can calculate the exact number of components using calculator.
Best Builds for Risley in Genshin Impact
Risley is the main damage dealer who is on the battlefield most of the time, using a combination of normal, charged attacks and seasoning it all with an elemental burst. Therefore, when choosing weapons and artifacts, you should rely not only on stats, but also bonuses that develop these mechanics: attack speed and increased damage of basic hits.
Recommended characteristic values
Risley's build is based on classic characteristics for a damage dealer: Crete. damage/crit. chance и Attack Power. Considering that he is also capable of playing through the Melt reaction, it may be necessary mastery of the elements. The ultimate is not that expensive (60 units of energy), but this ability plays an important role in the gameplay, so in the sub-stats energy recovery won't be superfluous.
Characteristics that are recommended to look for in artifacts:
Artifact | Main characteristic | Additional stats |
---|---|---|
HP (permanent) | Crit chance. hits Crete. damage Attack Power % Energy Recovery / Elemental Mastery | |
Attack Power (Permanent) | Crit chance. hits Crete. damage Attack Power % Energy Recovery / Elemental Mastery | |
ATK Elemental Mastery (via Melt) | Crit chance. hits Crete. damage Attack Power / Elemental Mastery Energy Recovery % | |
Cryo Damage Bonus | Crit chance. hits Crete. damage Attack Power % Energy Recovery / Elemental Mastery | |
Crit chance. hits Crete. damage | Crete. damage / Crit Chance. hits Attack Power % Energy Recovery % Elemental Mastery |
The optimal final values of stats that are recommended to have on a character:
- ATK: from 1700 units.
- Chance of crit and crit. damage: minimum ratio 1:2 (for example, 60 K/N and 120 K/U). Ideally, it is desirable to get 70-80% crit. chance - in this case crit. The more damage the better (from 190-200%). When playing through Freeze, it is enough to collect 30-40% crit. chance.
- Energy recovery: from 120-130% (without Cryo allies), from 110-120% (with Cryo allies).
- Elemental Mastery: from 150 units (when playing through Melting).
Best weapon
When choosing Risley weapons, give preference to catalysts that increase:
- damage from normal and charged attacks;
- Crete. damage or crit chance;
- attack strength and speed.
If you use a character in a team through Melt, you can equip a weapon with elemental mastery. However, it is worth considering that previous bonuses and stats are no less important.
Weapon | Effect |
Passive Increases attack power by 16-32%. When a character's current HP increases or decreases, for 4 sec. Normal attack damage increases by 16-32%, and a charged attack - by 14-28%. The effect stacks up to 3 times and occurs no more than once every 1 sec. When an equipped character gains 0,3 levels, attack speed increases by 3%. |
Treasury Oversight is Risley's signature weapon, which suits him perfectly and provides everything he needs. The catalyst has a high base and buffs speed and attack power. If the hero’s HP increases or decreases, the damage of normal and charged attacks also increases - the same condition applies to the passive “May the hour of retribution for sins come.” |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic Attack: 48-674 Critical Damage: 9,6%-44,1% Passive
Normal attack speed is increased by 10%-20%. After activating an elemental skill, normal attack damage is increased by 4,8%-9,6% per second. within 14 sec. While this effect is active, each hit on an enemy instantly increases the damage of a normal attack by 9,6%-19,2% once every 0,3 seconds. While one such effect is active, normal attack damage can be increased by a maximum of 48%-96%. The effect will be removed if the character leaves the battlefield, and reactivating the elemental skill will reset the damage increase. |
Alternative to Signa. The weapon is interesting because it has a high base, increases the speed and damage of a normal attack, as well as crit. damage in the main stat. There is no boost to charged strikes, but this is compensated by other useful bonuses. When using this catalyst, it is worth remembering that in order to receive the bulk of the buffs, you must always start the rotation with elemental skill. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic Attack: 48-674 ATK: 7,2-33,1% Passive
Increases elemental damage bonus by 12-24%. When hit with a normal attack, there is a 50% chance to gain a blessing of clouds that attacks nearby enemies for 15 seconds and deals 160-320% attack. May occur once every 30 seconds. |
Huge boost to attack power, bonus elemental damage, and extra area attack when hit with a normal attack. This is an excellent replacement for the previous catalysts and falls outside the standard banner. Loses to Prayer to the Saints of the Wind and The Widsith only if there are Bennett. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic attack: 44-542 Critical Damage: 19.2-88.2% Passive
Increases HP by 16-32%. When the character's current HP increases or decreases, the damage of the charged attack increases by 14-30% for 4 sec. The effect stacks up to 3 times and occurs no more than once every 1 sec. Upon gaining 0,3 levels or refreshing the duration of level 3, 3-8 units of energy are restored. Energy can be restored in this way once every 12 sec. |
Risley's damage comes not only from charged attacks, but also from ordinary ones, and he does not need an increase in HP. However, the weapon will help activate elemental bursts more often, and thanks to the HP loss mechanic, Risley will be able to activate a passive effect. It’s not worth knocking out specifically, but the catalyst will show good results when rotated with frequent use of charged attacks. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basic Attack: 46-608 Critical Hit Chance: 7,2-33,1% Passive
Increases movement speed by 10%. During combat, every 4 seconds grants an 8-16% bonus elemental damage, stacking up to 4 times, and ends when the character dies or leaves the battlefield. |
Has an average basic attack for a legendary weapon, but increases the critical chance. hits and movement speed. The passive effect also provides a decent elemental damage bonus, but to get all the stacks, i.e. the maximum buff, it is important to stay on the battlefield for 16 seconds. |
![]() ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Base damage: 46-608 Attack Power: 10,8%-49,6% Passive
Increases shield strength by 20%-40%. On hit, increases attack power by 4%-8% for 8 seconds. The effect can stack up to 5 times and occur every 0.3 seconds. In addition, while protected by a shield, the attack power bonus of this effect is increased by 100%. |
The weapon is weaker than other legendary alternatives and requires a shield on the team, which is not always convenient due to the fact that Risley plays better with healers. The Catalyst does not enhance elemental damage or the way it is dealt, but it does provide a lot of attack power, which is useful in commands from the Steam or Freeze reaction. In the first case, it is beneficial to take hours for elemental mastery, and in the second, increasing the attack stat will be useful in the absence of Bennett in the squad. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic Attack: 42-510 Critical Damage: 12%-55,1% Passive
When switching to a character, a random melody plays for 10 seconds. The effect works every 30 seconds: Recitative: Attack power +60-120%. Aria: Elemental damage +48-96%. Interlude: Elemental Mastery +240-480 points. |
Offers crit. damage and, depending on the random melody, gives a huge bonus to attack power, el. damage or elemental mastery. When playing through reaction, Meltdown is the best epic book, ranking in the top 5 position on R3. However, it is important to keep in mind that for Freeze or mono-Cryo, the MC buff becomes useless. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base Damage: 44-565 Energy recovery: 6,7%-30,6% Passive
For 6 seconds after hitting an enemy with a normal or charged attack, normal attack damage will increase by 8-16%, and charged attack damage will increase by 6-12%. The effect can stack up to 3 times and occurs once every 0,3 seconds. |
An event weapon that increases the damage of normal and charged attacks. The lack of attack power and crits is compensated by a fairly high base, a noticeable increase in auto-attacks (especially on R5) and energy recovery. This is one of the best F2P catalysts for Risley. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base damage: 41-454 Attack Power: 12%-55,1% Passive
Hits with normal attacks make charged attacks 16%-32% stronger for 6 seconds, and charged attacks, in turn, increase attack power by 8%-16% for 6 seconds. |
Another event weapon. Increases the damage of charged attacks when hit with a normal strike, and increases the attack power when hit with a charged strike. Overall, the passive fits easily into the character's classic rotation, so he will be able to get all the buffs without any problems. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic attack: 42-510 Critical Hit Chance: 6%-27,6% Passive
Hitting with a normal attack increases the damage of elemental skills and elemental burst by 20-40% for 6 sec. Conversely, hitting with elemental skills and elemental burst increases the damage of a normal attack by 20-40% for 6 sec. |
Weapons from BP. Increases crit. chance, damage of a normal strike and an elemental explosion. After using the ult for 6 seconds, you need to hit with basic attacks, that is, do not switch, since there is no other way to get the bonus. It is also recommended to activate the explosion within 6 seconds. after the usual poke. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Base damage: 44-565 Attack Power: 6%-27,6% Passive
Activating an elemental skill increases all element damage bonus by 8-16% for 15 sec and places a Life Debt equal to 10% of Max HP once every 24 sec. When Life Debt is removed, all element damage bonus for 15 sec increases by 2-4% for every 1000 Life Debt HP given. All element damage bonus cannot exceed 12-24%. |
Free craft book from Fontaine. Increases attack power in the main stat and gives bonus damage to all elements in the passive. To trigger the passive effect, just use an elemental skill and continue attacking enemies for 15 seconds to take advantage of the max. strengthening. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic attack: 42-510 ATK: 9-41,3% Passive
Normal or Charged Attack hits have a 60-100% chance to create an ice crystal above the enemy and drop it, dealing 80-140% of attack power damage in an area. If the enemy has the Cryo effect, it deals 200-360% of attack power damage. Can occur once every 10 seconds. |
An excellent crafting option in mono-Cryo squads and teams from Freezing. The second part of the passive ability accounts for almost half of the damage from weapons, so it is better not to neglect it and comply with the condition of Cryo status on the enemy. It is better not to use the Catalyst in teams via Steam with a lot of Pyro. |
![]() ⭐⭐⭐ Base damage: 40-448 Critical Hit Chance: 3,4%-15,6% Passive
Defeating an enemy increases movement speed and attack power by 12-20% for 15 sec. |
If it is not possible to obtain the weapons discussed above, you can equip the Twin Jade, which is obtained from Li Yue's chests. For a gun of such rarity, it has a pretty good base and increases crit. chance. After defeating an enemy, it also increases movement speed and attack power. |
Best Artifacts
When selecting artifacts for Risley, it is recommended to use sets that:
- Increases the damage of normal/charged attacks.
- Increases attack power.
- Provide bonus elemental damage.
Let's look at and analyze in more detail each set that suits the character.
Name | Description | Recommendation |
---|---|---|
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%. 4 parts: Increases crit chance. hit by 12% for 5 seconds when current HP increases or decreases. The effect can stack up to 3 times. | An excellent set that will increase not only the damage of basic attacks, but also the critical chance. hits from 12% to 36%. The second bonus is triggered if the character's health increases or decreases. The passive talent “May the hour of retribution for sins come” and the signature have the same condition, so the set corresponds to the hero’s mechanics. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases Cryo damage by 15%. 4 parts: Critical Chance. hits increase by 20% when hitting an enemy with Cryo status. If the enemy is Freeze, crit chance. hits increase by another 20% | A strong set of artifacts on Risley, but not in all builds. The set is best revealed in a squad through Freeze, since only in this case can you get a maximum 40% bonus to crit chance. hits. Not recommended when playing through Meltdown, since it will not be possible to maintain Cryo status on enemies. |
2 parts: Increases attack power by 18%. 2 parts: Increases Cryo damage by 15%. 2 parts: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%. | If you cannot collect complete sets, you can use the presented 2+2 combinations. A great option would be Lost in the Blizzard + Twilight Court Hunter. If you don't have enough attack power, Gladiator’s Finale (or another attack set) + Twilight Court Hunter will also work. | |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases attack power by 18%. 4 parts: When using an elemental skill, if the character has 15 or more energy, they lose 15 energy, and the damage of normal attack, charged attack and falling attack is increased by 50% for 10 seconds. The effect cannot be reactivated during this time. | The set has the necessary buffs: it increases attack power, damage of normal and charged attacks. At the same time, unlike the Twilight Court Hunter, in order to gain a boost for basic attacks, you will need to sacrifice an elemental explosion. Using the skill removes energy in return for a bonus, so you will have to activate the ult less often. |
⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases attack power by 18%. 4 parts: Elemental explosion increases attack power by 8% when activated. When a character loses HP, attack power is increased by another 10%. The effect occurs a maximum of 4 times no more than 0,8 seconds. The buff disappears when the character leaves the battlefield. | The set is extremely situational, but significantly increases attack power up to 36%. To do this, you will need to rearrange your rotation: start with an elemental explosion, then use a skill, and only after that basic attacks. In other words, you cannot switch after using the ult, otherwise the bonus will not work. Can be used if attack power is deficient or missing Bennett. Otherwise, it is better to give preference to other artifacts or 2+2 options. |
⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 2 parts: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 15%. 4 parts: Increases normal and charged attack damage by 25% for 8 seconds. after using an elemental skill. | Set for beginners. If you just started playing and there is no way to farm the necessary sets of artifacts, the Warrior will be an excellent option that will ideally suit your character. The main thing is after using the email. skill, continue attacking enemies for at least 8 seconds to get max. Effect. |
Troops for Risley
Risley is the main damage dealer around whom the team is built. As the bearer of the Cryo Eye of God, he pairs well with Pyro and Hydro elemental characters to trigger Melt and Freeze reactions. Risley can also play with Cryo heroes in a mono-elemental build.
Healers, although optional, can be used for additional backup. But it is worth considering that the passive talent “Let Justice Prevail” before opening C1 does not work if Risley has more than 60% HP.
Best characters
The following are all the heroes that best synergize with Risley. They are distributed across tables in accordance with their role in the squad.
Sub-dd
Pocket damage dealers that help deal additional damage outside the battlefield.
Character | Element | Weapon | Effects |
---|---|---|---|
Inflicts a large amount of Hydro status using the Freeze ult, while increasing all damage dealt to the active character. | |||
Budget analogue of Ye Lan. In addition to distributing Hydro, it increases resistance to interruption by an elemental skill and can heal a little. | |||
Secondary DPS from the pocket. With his skill he can heal, and with his superpower he distributes a damage buff. | |||
Distracts the attention of enemies with an E-Shock and deals periodic Hydro damage. The ultimate increases the damage dealt to the enemy after the bubble explodes. | |||
A good sub-dd for a squad via Freeze or mono-Cryo. Active squad members located in the area of her elemental explosion receive a 20% bonus to Cryo damage. | |||
Can act as a battery due to the quick rollback of the E-shki. An elemental explosion creates ice floes that follow the active character and deal damage to Cryo. | |||
Deals good damage and has skills with a fast reload. In addition, it increases crit. chance up to 15% after using an ult. | |||
With the help of the passive talent, Blade of the Ice Predator reduces the Cryo resistance of enemies who have received damage from the Spiritual Blade. At C2, it reduces the cooldown time of skills in the area of effect of the skill. | |||
Gives resistance to interruption of attacks, redirects part of the damage received by allies to itself, and deals fire damage from the pocket with an elemental skill. | |||
Convenient secondary DD, which is given for free. Deals Pyro damage with an E-Shock and an elemental explosion that follows the active character. | |||
Her E-hits are quite rare, but with another Pyro character or through Burn she can maintain a constant elemental status on enemies. | |||
Provides enough Pyro status to trigger the Melt reaction that Risley can inflict with normal attacks. | |||
One of the best companions for Risley: keeps enemies in constant control, causes a Dispel reaction in a large area and buffs elemental damage. | |||
Another free hero. Dispels and increases attack power when using an ultimate. Can become an ally in any build. | |||
Pulls enemies together, dispels them, and increases elemental mastery. Since the MC is needed only for Melting, the hero is recommended for this particular lineup, but can play in any other lineup due to the screed. | |||
Can maintain constant Pyro status on enemies from Burn for Risley and increase his elemental mastery through his buffing dome from the ult. Suitable for teams from Melt, where there is no possibility to allocate a full-fledged Pyro damager for Risley. | |||
Another Dendro character option that pairs well with Risley. Doesn't provide the elemental mastery buff that Nahida does, but can wear the Instructor set or simply compensate for the missing buff through her own damage. |
Sapports
Support characters who provide protection, healing, or buffs for Risley's team.
Character | Element | Weapon | Effects |
---|---|---|---|
Using an elemental explosion not only heals, but also increases attack power. Since it heals only in the area of effect of the circle, the process of healing can be controlled. | |||
Capable of performing the role of both a shield fighter and a sub-deader due to Pyro damage outside the battlefield. At C6, when receiving or renewing a shield, increases the damage of all types of attacks to allies by 15%. | |||
The best support for Risley. Reduces Cryo resistance of enemies and gives bonus Cryo damage to allies using the ult. Long press email. skill increases the damage of normal, charged and falling attacks. | |||
Restores health during an ult when an ally uses normal attacks. At the same time, el. skill increases attack speed. However, it is worth considering that, being a support under physical. damage, Mika is not the best support for Risley. | |||
Places a shield and deals ice damage outside the battlefield with an elemental skill and elemental explosion. On C4, it buffs regular and charged attacks after using the E-Shki. | |||
In addition to creating a shield, like Bennett, he summons a field that heals in a certain area, which allows you to control the amount of HP restored. | |||
Attack power healer, massive Cryo applicator and a solid battery. In a team with characters from Fontaine, receives a bonus to healing. | |||
An elemental skill creates a ring that periodically heals the active character and applies the Wet status to nearby enemies. Heals the entire squad with an ult. | |||
Places a strong shield on allies and reduces the elemental resistance of enemies in a small area. Keeps enemies under control with an elemental explosion. | |||
Buffs the damage of normal attacks using the effect of the ult. At C6, characters under this effect also receive a 12% attack speed bonus. | |||
An elemental explosion instantly restores the health of the entire team, and then periodically deals damage to Anemo and heals allies in the area of effect of the ability. | |||
The ult works in much the same way as Jinn's: in a certain area it deals damage, dispels and heals the active hero. However, it does not have an instant heal or screed. | |||
The skill creates a shield that will protect Risley during his HP decrease. It can extend the duration of protection from his basic attacks. | |||
Provides healing and a damage buff. | |||
While Sitlali isn't the best pick for Risley herself, she can be useful for her allies if she plays with a Pyro or Hydro sub-DD. |
Top Teams
With the characters discussed, you can create the following squads for Risley.
Units through Freeze
Teams consisting of Cryo and Hydro characters. Their interaction allows you to freeze enemies for a certain time. Please note that Freeze does not work against bosses.
Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
---|---|---|---|---|
One of the strongest freezing units. Risley is the main DD, who is on the battlefield most of the time. Xingqiu/Ye Lan apply Hydro status to cause a reaction. Shen He buffs Cryo and basic attack damage of Risley. Shilonen heals and reduces resistances, she can be replaced with Djinn. | ||||
A squad with two Hydro damagers. The best combination. - Ye Lan and Furina, since they both benefit from the HP boost from Hydro Resonance, but Xingqiu can also be used. The fourth slot can be used for either a buffer or a healer, depending on how carefully you play. | ||||
Charlotte's strengths are instant healing and AoE damage, which will help build Furina's Fanfare stacks. However, if Furina is not available, Layla is preferable, as she has a strong shield with no cooldown. At C4, she also buffs normal and charged attacks. | ||||
A more budget-friendly version of the previous build and without healing. If Ye Lan or Kazuha is not there, Xingqiu and Sucrose will take their place. Rosaria is an excellent battery and sub-dam, which at the same time increases the chance of crit. hits. | ||||
An alternative option with two Cryo and two Hydro characters. Mona allows allies to deal high instant damage due to the Omen effect from the elemental explosion. Furina switches between two states: damage and healing, and also buffs damage. Chun Yun reduces the Cryo resistance of opponents. | ||||
Completely free team. Kaya helps Risley recover energy faster and deals additional damage from his pocket with his ultimate. Lynette dispels and buffs the attack power, pulls it to C1. Barbara puts the "wet" status on enemies and heals allies. |
Squads through the Melt
Teams built on the interaction of Cryo and Pyro elements. They create a Melt reaction that deals high damage to one or more targets.
Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
---|---|---|---|---|
A team with Pyro Resonance, which increases attack power by 25%. Additionally, the attack is buffed by Bennett's ult and Goba's pepper from Xiangling's elemental skill. If you use Mavuika, instead of increasing attack power, you will get a buff to universal damage. Kazuha will provide a tightening or Shen He will give a bonus to Cryo damage. | ||||
A squad with Pyro and Cryo resonances. Sitlali protects the squad from incoming damage and reduces enemy resistance to Pyro. Risli attacks while on the field, performing a full rotation, without worrying about interrupting attacks. | ||||
A squad through Melting with Dendro. The damage in such a team can be quite high, but it is important to follow the rotation: first, the Dendro character uses his skills, then Dehya/Mavuika, Bennett puts on the ult, after that Risley enters the field and hits until the Pyro status falls. | ||||
An alternative squad with Dendro as a hero. It is important to paint Kazuha's ult in Pyro to additionally support this status on enemies. Toma is assembled in the usual HP build, since damage is not needed from him in this team, he only ensures survivability and prepares the base for Risley. | ||||
Xiangling and Dehya/Mavuika apply a permanent Pyro status from the pocket to make Risley react. The last slot can be used to put another Cryo character, such as a healer, shielder, or sub-DD, or Zhongli. | ||||
The Anemo character dispels Piro so that as many opponents as possible are under the status. Risley subsequently attacks these enemies, creating a Melt. The second Cryo character will allow Risley to recover energy faster and deal additional damage. damage. | ||||
Sunfire is Ganyu's team, but Risley is the main DD. The group works as follows: Bennett uses an elemental explosion, immediately after it Jinn ults, then Ganyu, at the very end Risley comes out and starts attacking with a skill and normal/charged attacks. |
Mono-Cryo units
Teams consisting primarily of Cryo heroes. They rely not on reactions, but on support buffs and their own damage.
Character 1 | Character 2 | Character 3 | Character 4 | Features |
---|---|---|---|---|
Risley is the main DD. Shen He lowers the enemies' Cryo resistance, buffs allies' Cryo damage with an elemental explosion and basic attacks with an elemental skill. Shilonen protects through healing and gives debuffs, she can be replaced with Zhongli. Ganyu/Rosaria/Chong Yun deal additional damage. | ||||
A simpler version of the previous build. Free Kaeya is placed in the role of sub-DD. Instead of Kazuha, you can use Lynette or Sucrose, which are worn emerald shadow to reduce resistance to Cryo. Diona provides the party with healing and shields. | ||||
This squad focuses on buffing Risley with buffs from Shen He's abilities, increasing normal damage from Yun Jin's ult, and reducing elemental resistance from Zhongli's shield or Shilonen's healing. These legendaries are swapped out for Layla if needed. |
How to play as Risley
Risley is a primary damage dealer who deals damage using bonuses and pocket abilities from supports. His gameplay is built around using normal and charged attacks, which are enhanced by his skill and passive talents.
The difficulty arises from the fact that most of the mechanics are based on decreasing and increasing the health scale. Therefore, when playing as him, you will need to carefully monitor the situation on the battlefield so that the hero is under buffs and at the same time does not lose much HP.
Rotation
Procedure:
E (elemental skill) > 3 Conventional attacks > 1 charged attack (when HP is below 60%) > repeat a combo of 3 normal + 1 charged strike until the end of the stance > Q (explosion of elements).
This rotation is the most optimal in terms of changes in Risley's HP and damage. Even though the elemental skill only buffs normal attacks, charged strikes are still extremely important for overall damage and can be buffed through a passive talent. A combo of such attacks allows you to first reduce Risley's health in order to activate the charging boost, and then restore health to maintain the buff from the E-shka.
Risley's optimal rotation looks like this:
- At the beginning of the battle, use the skills of the support characters so that after entering the battle, the manager of the Meropid fortress can receive all the necessary bonuses.
- Switch to Risley and cast skill. This will put you into a state of Chilling Punishment, which will strengthen basic attacks and increase interruption resistance.
- Hit your opponents normal attacks 5 times, while reducing Risley's health. Make sure your character is below 60% HP and perform charged punch without consuming stamina to increase damage and restore some HP. If there is C1, then be guided by the appearance of a dark aura.
- Repeat step #3 until the ultimate is charged or the support abilities expire.
- Use element explosionto deal multiple Cryo damage in an area in front of you. At the end, the Blade of Turbulent Waters will also appear with Ushii energy.
Сonclusion
Risley in Genshin Impact is a Cryo Catalyst, which completely covers the need for a main DD of this element and can work in different squads. However, he has a number of his own problems, for example, the need to be between 50% and 60% HP is solved only when opening C1. Therefore, to reveal the maximum potential, he partly needs additional investments that will provide useful bonuses and make the gameplay more comfortable.
Risley is a good choice for players who like to invest heavily in their heroes, but it can be difficult to get the most out of Risley on a F2P account. The damage output from Freeze squads is currently not that high unless his sub-DDs are strong on their own, and Melt groups force him to take his most sought-after allies or knock out the legendary Dendro character. So Risley isn't a bad hero, but he's definitely not a must-have for any account.

Which is better for Risley: Signa or C1?
In most cases, it is worth giving preference to C1, not signature weapons. Risley's signature provides him with a crit chance, which, given the character's native stat and his best set, can sometimes be in excess. At the same time, the first constellation completely solves all the problems with strengthening the stance, turning Risley into a stronger and more stable damage dealer.
However, it is worth considering that there are quite a few strong catalysts in the game that buff the damage of regular and charged attacks. Treasury supervision is important for Risley, and it is worth taking it too, but after C1. And if there is an alternative legendary book from the top 2-3, then you can completely refuse the signature one.
