A detailed beginner's guide to Genshin impact. Consistently closing the progress and using the reference book in the study of Teyvat.
If you recently installed Genshin Impact and just started playing the game, then, quite possibly, you still might not understand why the Traveler's Handbook is needed. Some tasks in it can confuse a beginner.
It's not always clear:

What is the Traveler's Handbook in Genshin Impact
For those who are not yet in the know: Traveler's Handbook is a section that opens by clicking on the "book" in the upper right corner of the screen. Inside there are progress tasks, daily quests, as well as a list of dungeons and the most dangerous opponents of Teyvat.
This book consists of several tabs:
- Experience;
- orders;
- Dungeons;
- Enemies;
- Guide;
- Preparation.
The most significant and important of them is the tab Experience. It also raises the most questions about how to complete the tasks in the process of developing an account.
How to get all Traveler's Handbook rewards in Genshin Impact
For any novice Genshin Impact player, the Experience tab of the Traveler's Handbook is key. It contains development progress tasks, completing which you can get valuable rewards:
- Experience Books (needed to improve characters);
- Moru;
- Artifacts;
- Gain Ore (used to upgrade weapons);
- Weak resin (restores 60 common resin);
- Fateful Encounters (items for saying prayers in a standard banner);
- Food;
- Ordinary ore.
All tasks are divided into 9 chapters. Only with 100% completion of one of them, you can proceed to the next. However, the tasks of the closed chapters count: if the player completes them by accident (or purposefully), when a new stage is opened, the completed tasks can be immediately rewarded. Directly for one hundred percent completion of the chapter, the player receives as a reward:
- Artifacts (up to 5-star);
- Hero experience;
- Primogems;
- Moru;
- Gain ore.
Below is a detailed guide for completing EACH type of tasks from the handbook from the first to the last chapter.
First chapter
Visit the statue of the seven Archons
It does not constitute a problem, because The statue of the Archons in the Valley of the Wind is unlocked during the main quest.
Activate 3 teleportation points
Waypoints (teleports) are scattered throughout Teyvat. The first of them will be right on the beach where the main character appears. It remains to find two more to complete the task.
Find 15 Treasures
Throughout the game world there will be chests that can be opened immediately, after the battle with the opponents guarding them, or when solving a riddle. In total, you will need to find 15 such "treasures".
Raise the statue of the Archons
All over the world you can find energy spheres - oculuses. Approaching them, the player sees an icon in the form of a four-sided star on the mini-map. With the help of them, the statue of the Archon is improved. At the time of writing the guide, three types of oculus are known:
- Anemoculae (Mondstadt);
- Geocules (Li Yue);
- Electrocules (Inazuma).
Chapter Two
Defeat the Cryo Mage
Traveling around the world, you can meet a flying monster with an elemental shield. Use Pyro characters to quickly destroy the protective shield and deal with its creator.
Cook 5 meals
Step up to one of the burning cauldrons or the city restaurant's stove to hone your own culinary skills.
Upgrade your weapon
Open inventory, select any weapon and click the "Details" button. Go to Enhance tab. Place unnecessary weapons or enhancement ore in the improvement slots to upgrade several levels of a sword, spear, bow or catalyst. Common weapons can be obtained from chests and when killing dangerous enemies. The ore is mined at completing quests and tests.
Equip your character with artifacts
Go to the "Character" tab, which is located in the main menu, and then open the "Artifacts" section. In it, put the available items of equipment in empty places. You can get artifacts:
- from chests;
- killing strong enemies;
- as a reward for some tasks and tests;
- of Dungeon Blessings.
Third chapter
Defeat the Ruin Guardian
Ancient mechanisms still roam the Teyvat. They can be found everywhere. The map below shows the main places in Mondstadt, where you can definitely find a few hunters or guardians of the ruins.
Craft an item at the forge
Every major city (Mondstadt, Li Yue Harbor, Inazuma City) has a forge. Approach the blacksmith and interact with him to see a list of items available for crafting. Make one of them.
Prepare the Ingredients
Enter the cooking menu at the boiler or stove. open the "Ingredients" tabas shown in the screenshot. Create any product available.
Level up your character
Open the "Character" tab in the main menu, then click on the "Level Up" button, where you can use experience books to improve your character's skills.
Upgrade an artifact
Similar to leveling weapons, there is an increase in the level and artifacts. Only other art is spent on them - from consumer goods and those that are simply not needed. Enter the "Artifacts" section of the inventory, open any of them, click "Details", and then - "Improve". Spend one or more items to upgrade an open one - the task will be completed.
The fourth chapter
Receive earth artery color awards
After defeating the bosses, as well as after completing the tasks of the arteries of the earth, a flower appears, when interacting with which, in exchange for resin, you can get well-deserved rewards. Do this once to complete the task.
Complete an Expedition
Talk to Katherine (Adventure Guild) in Monstadt, Li Yue or Inazuma. Select the Expeditions tab and send your character on a quest to collect materials, components, or Mora.
Raise a character
After upgrading the character to 20, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 levels, there are intermediate stages in which you need to ascend. It will require special ingredients and materials knocked out from bosses. Collect the required number of elemental gems, curiosities, and other necessary items to elevate a hero at least once.
Create an item using alchemy
Go to the alchemy stand in Monstadt, Li Yue, Inazuma (other major cities that will appear on the world map in the future). Interact with her and create any available item.
Defeat the mage Electro Cicine
Elektro tsitsin mages roam Teyvat. Defeat one of them. Until you meet at least one, there will be no information in the Traveler's Handbook about this monster. In Mondstadt, for example, you can go to Stormcloak Peak to fight the magician Electro Cicine.
Open one tomb of the depths
In all regions of Teyvat, there are strange structures that contain a luxurious chest. To open the tomb, you need a special key (each region has its own). The keys of the tombs of the depths can be obtained:
- passing story quests;
- increasing the Adventure Rank;
- pumping the statue of the archons, sacred sakura, permafrost tree.
Fifth Chapter
Visit the statue of the Seven Archons in the Sea of Clouds

Learn 10 recipes
Recipes can be purchased from food vendors in Li Yue, Monstadt, and Inazuma, and can also be obtained by completing various quests and challenges. Defeat Electro / Anemo / Geo Hypostasis

Upgrade your character's talents 3 times
Go to the "Character" tab in the main menu, open the "Talents" section and improve one or more of them (3 times in total). Books and scrolls to improve talents can be obtained in the dungeons of Mastery.
Complete the Adrius Challenge
To get started, complete Razor's Legends Quest "Nimble Wolf Cub. Chapter I: What does Lupical mean? and unlock the "Adrius: Wolf Lord" boss. Complete the test by defeating the wolf in the Wolfendom Arena.
Eighth chapter
Complete Flashback: Terror of the Storm II
To get started, open the Stormterror Lair dungeon by completing the three chapters of the prologue - the archon's starting quests. Kill Dwalin on difficulty XNUMX.
Chapter XNUMX
There are 9 tasks in chapter 11, all of which are only complicated versions of the previously encountered tasks. This is the last chapter in the handbook.

For completing ALL experience tasks, the player will receive:
- 900 primogems;

Enemies in Genshin Impact Traveler's Handbook
